About the Organization: Greyston's mission is to unlock the power of human potential through inclusive employment, one person at a time. Inclusive employment gives opportunities to those who often face rejection as a result of having barriers to employment, such as homelessness, limited work experience, previous involvement in the criminal justice system, and mental health problems. Greyston helps break down those barriers by working directly with both job seekers and employers. Through the Greyston Employment Opportunity Center (GEOC), clients are provided with workforce development and occupational trainings, soft-skills trainings, and case management services. The GEOC also offers business services for employers interested in adopting inclusive hiring practices.

Greyston's efforts are fueled partially by our for-profit enterprise, Greyston Bakery, which is staffed by individuals who likely would have been screened out by traditional hiring practices. The bakers come to us no questions asked, via the practice of Open Hiring®, which means no interviews, background checks, or resumes. In addition to providing jobs and resources to its bakers, Greyston Bakery is proof that a business can be profitable while simultaneously driving social change.
