About the Organization: The mission of the City Hall Park Conservancy is to enhance and re-envision City Hall Park as a community asset and New York City-wide symbol, and to celebrate its past and contemporary history. We are working in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, to make the best possible City Hall Park.

Position Overview: The Summer Intern will be an integral part of our organization and have exposure to all aspects of our non-profit. We are currently in a growth phase, and an intern would assist in formulating our Strategic Growth plan which includes interviewing key neighborhood stakeholders and analyzing insights. Helping with a full schedule of summer events such as free yoga/tai chi, a reading and music series, and hosting corporate and community volunteer days would also be necessary. Communication duties would include helping to put together weekly newsletters and writing and photographing content for social media. Additionally, we are currently working on a fundraising strategy and assistance putting together contact lists and fundraising materials would be included. The intern would work with all Board members, and report daily to the President and the Treasurer.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-         Help write and publish weekly newsletters using MailChimp
-         Interface with city agencies such as the Parks Dept, DCAS and the Mayor’s Office
-         Maintain the shared calendar and schedule meetings
-         Assist with social media posts and optimization
-         Help plan and execute a range of summer events in the Park
-         Attend volunteer days as we plant and clean up the Park
-         Assist in special projects such as putting together our Strategic Plan for growth
-         Help maintain a budget

Preferred Skills:
Candidates should be confident in their communication skills, have an ability to effectively manage projects and work independently. Some knowledge and familiarity using platforms such as Google Docs, Microsoft Office is preferred. Experience using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is preferred but not required.
The Ideal Candidate is:
A positive and hard-working attitude as well as good communication skills are required. Initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit are welcomed.  An interest in public space, event planning, city design and horticulture is preferred.
