About the Organization: The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) is dedicated to providing immediate, effective, and comprehensive employment services to people with recent criminal convictions. CEO’s programs help participants regain the skills and confidence needed for successful transitions to stable, productive lives. CEO serves more than 6,000 participants a year, giving them the opportunity to support themselves and their families, remain crime-free, and contribute positively to their communities.

Headquartered in New York City, CEO currently operates in 29 cities across eight states. In 2016, CEO embarked on a five-year strategic plan to serve 11,000 participants annually. CEO has gained support to expand its programs through government, nonprofit, and private organizations, including the Federal Social Innovation Fund, Edna McConnell Clark Foundation, Robin Hood Foundation, James Irvine Foundation, Tipping Point Community, and Google.org, among many others.

About the Employee Experience Intern Position:
CEO is looking to hire an intern to support our growing Employee Experience team through our Talent Development and Inclusive Experience units. This role will assist our Talent Development unit in providing research and gathering data to help build out a strategic plan for the future of CEO.
This role will also assist our Inclusive Experience unit in developing a proposal for our Affinity Group Leadership program, assisting us to drive our DEI strategies forward, as well as other special initiatives. This role will report to the Senior Associate of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives, who is based in Cincinnati and will provide support in the following ways:

Talent Development
·      Gather information related to best practices for career and talent development to help inform CEO’s Talent Development enhancement and future
·      Support with research and present best practices for leadership and management development

Inclusive Experience
·      Support developing one-off learning opportunities around DEI, including lunch and learns
·      Integrating more interactive tools into Employee Experience virtual trainings
·      Conducting research and contributing to the development of DEI learning tables, including "facilitating inclusive meetings" and others
·      Support the development of an Affinity Group Leadership Development proposal which will inform our decision-making and best practices
Preferred Skills:
·      Aptitude and ability with technology (Google Suite)
·      Deep professionalism and strong customer service
·      Ability to prioritize projects; experience coordinating many moving pieces
·      Can set and work towards ambitious goals, problem solve and perform basic data analysis
·      Enthusiasm for CEO’s mission and interest in working in a fast-growing and results-oriented nonprofit environment
·      Excellent communicator (verbal and written) and you operate with ease in collaborating with colleagues
