Women Make Movies, founded in 1972, is a non-profit feminist media arts organization dedicated to the production, distribution and exhibition of films by and about women. A multi-racial, multicultural organization, Women Make Movies is the leading North American distributor of films by and about women. About the Internship:
Women Makes Movies is seeking a Programs Intern who will assist our staff with various tasks including, but not limited to, the list below. This will be a split report, ensuring that the internship offers exposure to both sides of our organization’s activities: Production Assistance and Distribution. 

Responsibilities:
  • Research filmmaker resources for fundraising, marketing, promotion and distribution both on the Internet and in print material;
  • Compile information on WMM sponsored films and videos;
  • Maintaining files and organizing contract folders, invoices, and royalty statements as needed;
  • Digitizing, compression, and uploading of media;
  • Maintaining organization presence on Vimeo;
  • Working with the Office Manager to ship festival submissions as needed;
  • Completing festival entry forms;
  • Working on special Distribution and Production Assistance projects as assigned by supervisors. 

Requirements:
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with a high attention to detail and ability to proofread;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software;
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. 

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Has a knowledge of and interest in feminist film and/or independent film;
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and/or Premiere;
  • Ability to navigate social media platforms;
  • Is reliable and punctual for office hours.
